julia weaver, jail chaplain, artist & co-facilitator

julia’s work as a chaplain for the dane county jail with women in worship & spiritual care brings her into contact with women who need support as they return to their families and communities from incarceration. she is an artist with a special love for fiberarts, especially weaving. she served st. mark’s for ten years as coordinator of the promisekids program, a unique after-school program that creatively combined spirituality and the arts and a family style meal. the backyard mosaic women’s project began in 2004. the project was then invited to a new site, st. john’s lutheran church in january of 2010. julia works closely with each woman and facilitates our group reflection time.
